The Happy Envelope

happy envelope wedding invitationWHO ARE THESE HAPPY PEOPLE?

As far back as she can remember, Sarah’s true love has been art and design. Before she began The Happy Envelope, Sarah used to sit for hours at a tiny table in her bedroom drawing and coloring with crayons and markers on sheets of paper to make her own gift-wrap. Graphic design was a clear career choice from the beginning. In most of her design challenges at the university level, she learned that she was particularly drawn towards creating small things, especially anything that required mailing. She feels that each invitation arriving in a person’s mailbox has the potential be a special, beautiful, and memorable package for the recipient.

After college, Sarah worked at a small advertising agency for two years. In that time, many family members and friends requested custom invitation designs, from baby showers to wedding invitations. In the fall of 2003, Sarah branched out and started The Happy Envelope, a boutique design company specializing in invitations and announcements.

In 2007 her husband, Ty, joined her at The Happy Envelope as business manager. The company studio is nestled in the gentle hubbub of downtown Knoxville—the perfect creative environment in which to meet with brides and brainstorm new ideas. Sarah and Ty live with their two daughters and their two long-haired Chihuahuas.
